NYE is fast approaching and we are really excited to be announce our hotel-wide, Vegas themed party, Lucky 13.
In addition to a night of: Shameless Karaoke, Vegas style buffet dinner option, casino games and slots with prizes to be won, and of course champagne, we’re also going to be packing the night with amazing DJ lineups like Kill Them With Colour.
Kill Them With Colour is a fresh DJ and production duo that started in 2008 in Victoria, British Colombia. Wesley Marsh and Jason Carr began their love affairs with dance music recalling influences from Deep Forest, Michael Jackson, Mr. Oizo and Daft Punk. Although they grew up in vastly different environments (Wes in France and Trinidad & Tobago, and Jason in Newcastle Island), upon meeting they discovered that they shared common interests as kids; experimenting with sounds and creating samples out of old cassette tapes.
In the span of two short years, Jason and Wes have produced a number of remixes as well as original tracks that juxtapose from chill and wavy to bass thumping, sweat dripping, dance ‘till you can’t feel your body, sounds.
After gaining acknowledgeable attention from blogs such as Earmilk, Tracasseur and in print via Tillltate.com Magazine (where band Return To Mono shouts out KTWC for their remix of Framebreaker), it quickly became apparent that Kill Them With Colour’s production would continue on the steady incline into people’s hearts and dancing shoes.
As 2011 dawned, the success of KTWC carried through, showcasing in Toronto during NXNE (Canada’s largest music festival) and releasing a self-titled EP that presents a mix of ElecTropic, House, Techno and experimental arrangements, fully depicting the essence of their style.
Not quite killed yet? check out this KTWC remix of Kid Cudi’s “Symphonies” that hit #1 on The Hype Machine in 2010.
